I’m not sure if it was the rain pouring down or that I have a lot going on, but I drove all day today with the radio off. I found it very peaceful and relaxing. It gave me the time to think about a lot of different things that are going on right now between a busy work life, a busy school life and trying to have a social life.
It seems I never have time to reflect anymore and I am always on the go, thinking about the next thing I need to do. So today, I took a deep breath and reflected.
With that reflection, I gained clarity around some personal things going on. I was able to get out of work mode and focus on the here and now (or at least what I was going to).
Reflection is such an important thing and I find myself with less time to do so. So I was glad I took the time today to breath.
When do you have time to reflect?

I agree with you. I tend to reflect when I am driving to & from work. My blue tooth doesn't work so I don't talk on the phone. When I drive home from work on nice nights, it's really nice to just look up at the moon and look out at the bay over the bridge. I am glad the San Mateo bridge is straight! hehe :)
ReplyDeleteGirl, I am so spacey when I drive, that I reflect even with the music on. But I usually reflect on the way home, cuz on the way to work, I'm just too sleepy to reflect, or too frazzled with trying to weave through traffic.
ReplyDeleteI agree, reflection time is good. However, in my situation, I think I have wayyy too much free time on my hands...and reflection time is pretty much all the time. =P But yes, being able to reflect on priorities and goals is good to think of every now and then.
ReplyDeleteSometimes I reflect before I got to sleep. While I'm tossing and turning to get comfortable, I think about how my day went. Usually when I'm driving...I tend to daydream!
ReplyDeleteI barely take time to breathe and I remembered one of my favorite teachers tell me to 'Stop and smell the roses' because we tend to always rush throught the day. So I try to smell the roses whenever I can.
